The repercussions of the Russian-Ukrainian war require a comprehensive analysis of the challenges faced by the Egyptian economy, their impact on financial and monetary stability, in addition to the efforts made by the government to mitigate the negative effects and provide economic protection for citizens.
The rise in global energy and oil prices as a result of the conflict directly affected production and transportation costs within Egypt, leading to higher prices for many goods and services locally. This in turn caused inflation rates to increase and imposed additional pressures on the state budget. In addition, remittances from Egyptians working abroad decreased as a result of global economic challenges, which contributed to increasing the current account deficit.
